TRAINING

I received a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California with a specialization in mental health. I have experience working with individuals, groups, children, teens, and families in a variety of settings. My postgraduate training included three years at The Maple Counseling Center in both the Adolescent and Child Program, and in the Adult Program.

Additionally, I have received extensive training in grief and loss at Our House Grief Support Center, and greatly enjoy providing treatment to those suffering from the various associated feelings. Part of my practice also concentrates on the emotional components of learning differences. Individuals who have a learning difference may not learn in the same way or as quickly as their peers. As a result, one might feel angry, frustrated, anxious, or stressed and working with a therapist to address these feelings can be valuable.

My treatment orientation is primarily psychodynamic, however through the combination of my Social Work education and postgraduate training, my treatment approach is always client centered and often attachment based, incorporating cognitive behavioral tools, mindfulness techniques, and various others modalities depending on what works best for the client.
